Director of Business Development

We are currently seeking highly qualified candidates for a Director of Business Development to join our team. The Director of Business Development will be responsible for developing channel strategy, forecasting risks/opportunities, evaluating programming and execution, providing insights and analysis, and cultivate key corporate, wholesale and consumer relationships.


As we grow from being an early-stage start-up to a household brand, we’re looking for the right person to help build Teneral Cellars through strong multi-channel strategy consisting of DTC, wine club, virtual tastings, corporate gifting and wholesale.


Delivering profitable, sustainable revenue growth as quickly as possible: This is our collective number one success metric, and we’ll look to you to lead figuring out what works best - and scales.  We’ll also look to you to align planning, budgeting, monitoring, analyzing and optimizing against key performance metrics to ensure revenue goals are delivered in a sustainable way!


What you will be responsible for:

  • Adapting and implementing a sales strategy, aligned with overall corporate goals, to grow qualitative distribution and key relationships
  • Working hand-in-hand with the CEO to establish sales targets and KPIs by channel
  • Leading the management of partnerships strategic initiatives to maximize business opportunity and brand visibility
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with sales counterparts at relevant distributors
  • Leading brand education efforts for distributor and trade partners in the region
  • Serving as a key stakeholder on all trade and consumer marketing initiatives in the region

What you will bring:

  • 8+ years of sales experience for alcohol beverage brands including track record of success building brands 
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, presentation, reconciliation, and prioritization abilities / skills
  • Ability to gain insights from analytics to develop Strategic Sales and Marketing Plans
  • Strong communication skills to provide focus for sales channels and drive results
  • Advanced level Excel experience as well as strong software skills
  • Must be an analytical, organized, detail-oriented team player with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on the company’s success
