Barbera wine is a red wine of Italian origin. Barbera is known for being dark in color, but light in taste. The Barbera grape varietal is vigorous, able to produce high yields. While Barbera does grow nicely in sandy soils, the best Barberas, tend to be from smaller grape clusters in well-pruned/managed vineyards.
