In Celebration of International Women's Day
Our latest collection has arrived just in time for Women’s History Month and International Women's Day! This year's theme is Embrace Equity. Equity is an integral step on the path to equality. To learn more about the differences of the two read more on our blog and at the International Women's Day site where you can find resources to help you plan an activity, to learn more, and to watch videos from other women showing how they embrace equity.
With this release we focus on the unique path that each woman will take in her lifetime, and show our appreciation for the women who have forged change with their bravery and commitment to a better world and a better way. We support Equality, Equity, and Opportunity for women and it is why Teneral Cellars was founded, and why our mission is to reshape the wine industry to better reflect its largest customer- women. This collection features three bottles, The Joyful Warrior Zinfandel, RISE Pinot Gris, and the In Her Shoes Lioness Cuvée (a Bordeaux style blend).
Our gorgeous RISE Pinot Gris label was created by Filipina-American artist Dev Heyrana and features a woman in her power, sunkissed and adorned by dahlias and sampaguita flowers. This bottle celebrates the Filipina and Mexican women who played an important part in weaving the fabric of California's farmlands. In addition we honor Dolores Huerta, an American labor leader and Civil Rights Activist, who worked alongside Cesar Chavez prior to and during the Delano Grape Strike. The strike and the banding together of farm workers eventually evolved into the formation of the United Farm Workers Union. You can discover more of Dev’s work on Instagram @_HEYRANA.
The In Her Shoes Lioness Cuvee label was created by graphic designer Sarah Buehler. This beautiful label combines traditional and historical footwear from different cultures with some of the more common styles worn by modern women. The shoes represent the unique life path each woman will take and honor the women who have blazed a trail of change before us.
Using wine as a conduit for change, we are working towards a world that's diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated. Collectively we can take action to drive gender parity and forge women's equality. We believe that when you open a bottle, you open a conversation. One that will inspire change. Collectively our individual actions combine to become the transformation we want to see.
