She Advocated For Our Rights So We Can Use Them

Ruth Bader Ginsburg spent a career fighting for people like me and my family. If I had lived in a different time -- perhaps in a world without RBG -- I wouldn’t be living my life as I am today. Or perhaps I simply wouldn’t exist.

I am many things that many people dislike. I am a woman, an immigrant, a person of mixed race married to another person of mixed race, a parent of a gender fluid child, and more. Ruth Bader Ginsburg worked fearlessly so that people like me and my family would have the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

When I think of Ruth Bader Ginsburg I feel gratitude for all she’s done and motivated to do better for my community and future generations. All of us who have benefited from her perseverance owe it to her to continue it -- to use the rights that she has advocated and defended for us and to stand up to injustices and fight for equality, equity and justice for all.
