I was hesitant to write this post, because it’s difficult to so publicly share vulnerability. But as an Asian American woman, I felt a sense of responsibility. A responsibility to do my part in shedding light on what the AAPI community is experiencing.
Our next wine release will be three beutiful bottles of wine honoring PRIDE and celebrating womxn, women who love women, and allies in the LBGTQ+ community. One of our core beliefs is "Love is Love" and we want to express this belief along with our respect and love for the womxn of the LBGTQ+ community with a special Limited Edition release... and YOUR poetry could be on the bottle!
Ruth Bader Ginsburg spent a career fighting for people like me and my family. If I had lived in a different time -- perhaps in a world without RBG -- I wouldn’t be living my life as I am today. Or perhaps I simply wouldn’t exist.
When people listen to music it triggers parts of the brain that evoke emotions. There are implicit and explicit memories. Explicit memories are simple memories such as what you did five minutes ago, basically anything in your conscious mind.
I don’t need to wait until next Christmas to be reminded of what RBG has done. Her spirit is with me always. I feel blessed to be working with Teneral Cellars to promote its RBG collection of wine and to have the opportunity to raise a glass to an incredible woman.
As a woman in a historically all-male field – agriculture, I was always looking for female role models, from any field or industry. Ruth Bader Ginsburg (RBG) is a role model and hero of mine and was so even before she became a Supreme Court Justice for her work on gender equity at the ACLU.
A gender line ... helps to keep women not on a pedestal, but in a cage.
Ruth Bader Ginsberg stands as a shinning beacon of women that have risen to become trusted leaders. A trusted leader is someone that stands in the dark and shines a light so everyone can now see. For those of us who lead a business, there is much to be learned from her approach.
